Privacy
Savy has no ads, no analytics trackers and no accounts you have to create. Here is exactly what happens to your data.
What stays on your device
- Download history is stored in your browser (IndexedDB). We cannot see it. You can clear it any time from the History page.
- Settings (default quality, format, filename template, theme) are stored in your browser's local storage.
What our server handles
- The link you paste and the options you choose are sent to our server so it can fetch and convert the media.
- Your files are created on the server and automatically deleted about one hour after they are made. Anyone with the file's private link can download it until then, which is how “Send to phone” works. Links are long random strings that cannot be guessed.
- Your IP address is used to apply rate limits and may appear in short-lived operational logs used to keep the service running and to prevent abuse.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads or sell data.
- We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- We never ask for, or store, your passwords for YouTube, Instagram or any other service.
Optional accounts
If this deployment has accounts enabled, you can sign in with an email link to sync your history across devices. Synced history is stored in our database and protected so only you can read it. You can sign out or ask us to delete it at any time.
Third parties
To fetch media, our server connects to the platform you link to (for example YouTube or Instagram), which will see a request from our server's IP address, not yours.
